This parent fled interstate with a minor in their care due to experience of past family violence and young person being assaulted by an adult. The parent fled with the minimum of clothes and utensils. Significant items for everyday living, including a cherished bicycle of the young person, are in storage until the parent can afford to have them transported to their new home. The parent is making mighty efforts to assist their young person recover from the impact of their traumatic experiences. They need support of community to feel safe and settled in their new home as they work through police investigation of attempted and actual assault to both. The parent supports their young person to integrate into school and their new community by way of having them engage in new hobbies and establish trusted networks of friends and support persons.
