Our client is a 23-year-old Aboriginal single mother of two who is currently living in temporary accommodation after escaping severe domestic and family violence. She is a survivor of serious sexual and physical violence since childhood and is determined to break the cycle and create a safe, stable future for her children. Recently, her young nephew has also come into her care following his mother’s incarceration. We are facing significant challenges in securing the correct Centrelink payments due to limited formal documentation for the new care arrangement and missing identity documents for the child. Even before taking on the care of her nephew, our client was experiencing severe financial hardship. She is currently struggling to afford basic essentials such as food and clothing for the children in her care.We are seeking support to help this young mother stabilise her life, heal, and provide her children with the safety and security they deserve. Grocery vouchers will be so helpful.
