This participant is retired and was extremely flood affected during the Lismore 2022 floods. Since the floods they have struggled to secure permanent reliable accommodation. Along with the potential of being homeless, they have also struggled with mental health adversity and their flood related trauma. Over the past 4 years this person has dedicated their time to volunteer (at multiple orgs) and support other flood affected residents in the Northern Rivers.
They have recently become homeless due to their rental property being solod due to damage from the flood.
They are presently residing in a temporary accommodation facility. We have now been informed that a permanent unit in a local seniors care facility will become available within the next 2 weeks.
This person has managed to salvage some furniture items but done need additional support to accommodate the upcoming move into secure housing.
