This young person has experienced homelessness and couch surfing for over a year due to ongoing family violence and intimate partner violence. During this time, they have stayed in multiple refuges and emergency accommodation services and have been financially supporting themselves since the age of 15, without any family support.
They are currently in urgent need of financial assistance for basic necessities, as the households they are couch surfing in are also unable to financially support them. Despite the significant adversity they have faced, this young person wants to study and gain employment to create a stable future. However, they are currently focused on day-to-day survival and lack the resources needed to move forward. Brokerage support would provide immediate relief and help create stability, safety, and opportunities for independence.
