The mother, a sole parent of three children with complex needs, is seeking support with the cost of living. Two of the children have diagnosed Autism Spectrum Disorder (one Level 3 and one Level 2) and the older child struggles with attachment and ED due to trauma.
The family is currently experiencing high levels of stress, with the mother approaching burnout despite her ongoing efforts to implement boundaries, routines, and structure within the home. The eldest child (8) has displayed family violence behaviours toward younger siblings, and currently lacks appropriate, healthy outlets to manage heightened energy and emotional dysregulation.
The family is connected with multiple support services; however, recent funding changes have resulted in reduced support, placing increased pressure on the mother as the sole caregiver.
