My patient is a young Aboriginal man having to leave his home and Country to travel to hospital for eye surgery. It’s terribly unfortunate that this surgery cannot be done closer to home. Due to his deteriorating eye sight he has not been able to work while waiting for this surgery and this has caused financial stress to him and his family.
He is in need of some food vouchers to assist him to buy some healthy food while he is having to stay local near the hospital, until he can return home. Due to the surgery it will be unsafe for him to travel home for a minimum of 10 days post surgery.
Any food hampers or food/grocery vouchers would be very much appreciated.
As he is not from around here he will have trouble accessing local services. He will have no car and difficulty getting around while he recovers from eye surgery.
