Young mum with 10 month old. Recently boarded a flight to travel 900km away following a hostile family violence situation with only a couple of bags of clothes and porta cot for baby. Currently residing with the baby’s father in emergency accommodation. Has expressed a strong desire to secure independent accommodation but due to housing crisis this is proving difficult. Experienced payment suspensions and reductions over the Christmas period, resulting in significant financial hardship and difficulty meeting daily needs. Has ongoing physical and mental health challenges, partner very unwell and she is caring for him also, this contributing to distress. Despite current barriers, she has set positive goals, including: Securing their own accommodation, obtaining a learner’s permit and to re-engage in education, she is taking steps toward achieving these goals. She would greatly appreciate assistance with essential items, including food, baby items, sanitaries, and other necessities.
