Mum has been struggling for a long time to support herself and her children. A survivor of domestic violence, she is also coping with ongoing mental-health challenges. Her children range from primary-school age to toddlers and a baby, and as they grow, their need for more food has stretched her already tight budget. Despite her careful planning and constant effort to make every dollar count, she is finding it increasingly difficult to keep the cupboards stocked. She actively seeks help from local community services and support groups, but these resources can’t meet all of her family’s needs and she is deeply saddened with the fact that she can not support her childrens basic needs.
