A single mother and survivor of family and domestic violence she has spent years putting her children’s needs ahead of her own. Her children live with complex disabilities and she is their primary carer, advocate and source of stability. Despite limited finances, ongoing economic hardship, and very little family support she works tirelessly to ensure her children are safe, supported and cared for.
The cumulative impact of trauma, caregiving pressures, and social isolation has significantly affected her mental health and contributed to hoarding behaviours. She acknowledges these challenges and is ready and willing to engage in treatment and support services. However, financial barriers have made it difficult to access the help she needs.
She has reached a critical point where without urgent support and intervention she is at risk of losing her home. She is a loving and devoted mother who is doing her best under extremely difficult circumstances.
