My client recently experienced a housing crisis after the private rental she had been living in for approximately 11 years was sold. This situation placed her at significant risk of homelessness and had a noticeable impact on her mental and physical wellbeing.
Despite these challenges, she has demonstrated resilience and has secured a room in a shared household. However, the transition has placed considerable financial strain on her. Costs associated with moving, including bond, relocation expenses, and basic setup needs, have significantly reduced her available income.
Combined with the ongoing cost of living pressures, my client is currently experiencing difficulty meeting essential day-to-day expenses, particularly in accessing sufficient food. After covering rent and utilities, she has very limited funds remaining.
