Recipient story

Without a phone, people experiencing homelessness can miss payments, appointments and critical support.
GIVIT
Domestic & Family Violence
For people experiencing homelessness, not having a smartphone creates real and ongoing barriers. So many essential services now rely on phone contact, text messages or online systems. Without a phone, people can miss important appointments, lose contact with services, or have payments stopped because they couldn't be reached.
When someone doesn't have a reliable phone, everyday tasks like responding to messages, confirming appointments or meeting reporting requirements become extremely difficult.
A basic smartphone can help people stay connected to health care, community supports and essential services. It can reduce stress, prevent avoidable setbacks, and help people stay engaged with the supports that are already in place. Access to a phone can make a practical meaningful difference to someone's ability to manage their circumstances and move forward.
