My client has left a violent relationship, she has fled from her home and home town to escape the violence. She spent the past 4 months couch surfing and sleeping in her car. She is currently staying in a shelter and waiting for more permanent accommodation. She has no contact with her family due to fear of her partner finding her.
When she left, she left with very little, but a strong determination to survive.
After escaping domestic violence, she is now safe, but starting over is hard. She is rebuilding her life from nothing: replacing essentials, attending counselling and appointments, and working towards stability and independence. Every small step forward takes courage, time, and support.
