Mum escaping serious FDV with her 4 year old
Domestic & Family Violence
Mum has fled NZ with her 4 year old due to life threatening FDV. Perpetrator has received a prison sentence. Mum has moved to West Australia for safety reasons and to be close to her one family member who lives here. CALD background and originally from India. Currently on a temporary visa and not able to access Centrelink or the leaving domestic violence payment due to her visa status. Mum is struggling financially and both mum and son are trying to recover from the trauma they have experienced. Current living arrangement is also temporary. Mum is linking in with an FDV outreach support service locally so they can access counselling.
