This elderly couple have spent their lives working hard, giving back, and quietly looking after others whenever they could. They never expected to need help themselves.
In May 2025, the floods changed everything. Their home was destroyed, along with the possessions and memories built over a lifetime. With no insurance and very limited government assistance available to them, they are now facing the overwhelming task of starting again with almost nothing.
Despite everything they have endured, they remain resilient and deeply grateful for any kindness shown to them. At a stage of life when things should have been simpler and more secure, they are instead navigating loss, uncertainty, and the emotional toll of rebuilding from scratch.
