Looking for a new laptop so client can communicate with friends and family

My client is a 67year old male who is currently an inpatient at his local hospital. He has been there for over a month now. It is not known when he will be able to return to his home as he is quiet unwell.
My client is an intelligent man but is very under educated. He has spent his lifetime working in manual labour, after leaving school at a young age, but his days of doing this are now behind him. He would like to learn how to use technology but has never had the opportunity, nor desire, until now. He recognises that using technology will improve his quality of life as he will be able to communicate socially with family, the majority of whom live away. Isolation is one of his biggest fears and living in the Upper Murray is as isolated as you can get.
My client would love to have a laptop in order to learn to use it for purposes of communication with family and friends. Having one will improve his quality of life dramatically.
