A woman in her 60s is experiencing significant emotional and financial hardship following her long-term partner’s transition to residential aged care due to dementia. This major life change has been deeply distressing and has left her coping with grief, uncertainty, and increased living costs on a limited income.
Prior to his hospitalisation, ongoing episodes of incontinence damaged her bed beyond repair, leaving her without suitable bedding and in need of replacement essentials to support her health and wellbeing.
She has also been addressing long-standing hoarding behaviours that have impacted her home environment. Despite these challenges, she has shown determination and resilience by actively sorting through belongings and working to create a safer, more functional living space. Assistance at this time would help relieve immediate economic hardship and support her efforts to maintain a safe, stable, and dignified home during a particularly difficult period.
