The client and her four children fled their home in June 2026 due to ongoing domestic and family violence, leaving behind her belongings to prioritise their safety. They are currently residing in temporary accommodation with only a few bags of clothing and essential personal items. While the client is grateful to have a safe place for her and her children, the accommodation is unfurnished, and the family does not have beds or mattresses. As a result, the children are currently sleeping on the cement floor during this winter, which has been affecting their quality of sleep and overall wellbeing during an already traumatic period. The client is experiencing significant financial hardship during this transition and is working hard to establish a safe and stable home for her family. Assistance to provide mattresses would help meet the children's immediate basic needs, promote healthy sleep and recovery from trauma, and support the family's transition towards stability.
