This family urgently requires a large shed for storage on their property after losing their primary source of income following a recent brain cancer diagnosis. Prior to becoming unwell, the primary income earner operated a small importing business and held significant stock related to the business. Due to treatment, fatigue and cognitive decline, they are no longer able to work or manage the business. The family is currently paying approximately $1,300 per month for commercial storage, which has become financially unsustainable as both adults are now unable to work. Having secure storage at home would relieve significant financial pressure and allow the family to retain and gradually sell remaining stock where possible. A second-hand shed in good condition would be greatly appreciated.

A family facing sudden financial hardship after a parent’s aggressive brain cancer diagnosis urgently needs support.

A family is experiencing severe financial hardship following the recent diagnosis of an aggressive brain tumour in the primary income earner. Prior to diagnosis, both adults in the household were self-employed and financially independent. Due to the rapid progression of the illness and intensive treatment schedule, both have now been unable to work, with one partner becoming the other’s full-time caregiver.

The diagnosis has caused significant fatigue, memory loss and cognitive changes, making it impossible for the individual to continue operating their business or manage existing commitments. With no ongoing income, no income protection insurance and limited savings remaining, the family’s financial situation has become critical.

They are doing their best to maintain stability for their children while navigating treatment, emotional stress and mounting living costs, and are now in urgent need of community support.
