A 71-year-old woman has experienced significant hardship throughout recent years, including two flooding that resulted in the loss of all her personal belongings and which caused ongoing emotional trauma. Due to these circumstances, she was required to relocate to a new area and experienced homelessness after leaving the pod village.
The client has a history of substance use and has undergone a hip replacement, which has added to physical and emotional support needs. Following her displacement, she spent several months living in temporary accommodation at a motel while support workers assisted her with accessing services and exploring longer-term housing options.
Recently, the client was allocated a new home through Homes NSW. Although this is a positive, she faces the challenge of establishing a new household without her previous possessions, furniture, or other essential items.
