Arriving in Australia in 2024 on a Bridging Visa, this strong and determined woman speaks both French and English. Her six children, aged 12 to 24, remain in the Democratic Republic of Congo under a relative’s care. With every dollar she earns, she sends support back home, sacrificing her own comfort to give her children a chance at a better future
Here she faces a different battle. She lives alone in a small apartment often disturbed by outside troubles, struggling with depression brought on by separation and isolation. Despite her resilience and qualifications, work is irregular, finances are tight and loneliness is overwhelming. She is actively seeking more opportunities to rebuild her life, but right now she has very little to call her own
