At 35, this young mans life has been significantly disrupted by a series of devastating events that have resulted in him experiencing homelessness. Following the loss of his employment, he was unable to sustain his tenancy and subsequently lost the stability, routine and support networks that once helped him manage daily life. Since becoming homeless, He has faced immense hardship and uncertainty while trying to navigate an already complex set of circumstances.
He was recently diagnosed with schizophrenia, anxiety and autism, conditions that have a profound impact on his ability to manage everyday tasks, maintain routines and cope with the challenges of homelessness. Without the safety and stability of secure accommodation, his mental health symptoms are exacerbated, making it increasingly difficult for him to focus on his recovery and engage with supports. To manage his symptoms, he relies on simple coping strategies such as listening to music and going for walks.
