Seeking help to replace Ruffy community Christmas Decorations
2026 Victoria Bushfires
Each year the Ruffy Community puts on a town Christmas Party to celebrate the festive season. Tradition is to put on a BBQ spit roast, with pot-luck salads and desserts along with Santa visiting on the CFA truck giving gifts to the children. A local Redwood tree is decorated with giant tinsel, lights and baubles. With a town population of around 165, the Christmas party usually sees around 150 attendees, including families from neighbouring communities.
The fires of January 9 saw the destruction of the store of decorations and Santa's suit.
Ruffy Community Action Group (RCAG) is a volunteer-led organisation that brings the Ruffy community together to identify shared priorities, support local initiatives and advocate for needs. RCAG have taken the lead to ensure that this year, Ruffy celebrates Christmas together after what has been an extraordinarily trying year.
