Being mobile is maybe one of the most important prerequisites for an independent life. This is even more true for any person experiencing homelessness. Imagine needing to frequently change your sleeping site and needing to access support services in multiple locations all over town.
When client became homeless, his bicycle was his only pride and joy left. Moving around freely was not only the one affordable hobby left but the mobility the bike granted became a crucial means of survival. Now, years later, after countless nights on hard ground and plagued by an ageing body, he cannot ride his bike anymore. The knees give in and the back hurts. Transporting a backpack or a tent has become impossible. An electrical bike would not only give him back some freedom, independence, and dignity. It would also support him in very practical way in his everyday life.
