The client is a 47-year-old Aboriginal man who is currently experiencing homelessness. He has been sleeping rough for approximately three years, primarily residing in tents within the local community. His homelessness is linked to a history of domestic and family violence (DFV), family breakdown, and ongoing mental health challenges, which have significantly impacted his stability and ability to maintain housing.
The client has recently been supported by local services to access temporary accommodation, which he is working towards stability. However, he continues to experience significant financial hardship due to prolonged homelessness and limited capacity to engage in employment.
As a result, the client is unable to meet basic living needs and lacks essential items required to safely and comfortably maintain his current accommodation.
