2026 Victoria Bushfires
A family was significantly impacted by the January 2026 bushfires, losing their home and all personal belongings when they were forced to evacuate with little notice. Having no opportunity to save possessions, they are now navigating the challenges of recovery and displacement while living separately until temporary accommodation is ready on their property. The temporary arrangement will allow the household to reunite and begin rebuilding their lives while they consider longer-term recovery plans. The loss of their home, belongings and sense of stability has created considerable hardship, and support from the community will help ease the transition, provide comfort during this difficult period, and assist the family as they work towards establishing a new sense of normality following the disaster.
