After an extraordinarily difficult period marked by housing insecurity, a serious and progressive health condition, and the loss of her father, this woman has finally secured stable long-term housing through the public housing system — a milestone that has taken years of perseverance to reach.
She lives with end-stage liver cirrhosis, which significantly limits her ability to work, manage independently, and care for herself without support. She relies solely on a disability pension and has no capacity to furnish her new home independently.
For the first time in a very long time, she has a safe place to call her own — and the difference a few essential items of furniture would make to her ability to truly settle in, feel at home, and focus on her health and wellbeing cannot be overstated.
Any support provided will go directly toward helping this woman build a stable, comfortable, and dignified home environment as she begins this important new chapter of her life.
