Across Australia, thousands of women and children are rebuilding their lives after experiencing domestic and family violence. Behind every new beginning is a network of dedicated organisations working quietly but powerfully to provide safety, dignity and hope.
One of those organisations is 4 Voices Global Limited, a remarkable domestic violence charity supporting people who are experiencing, or are at risk of, abuse. Together with GIVIT, their work is helping individuals move from crisis to stability with the practical support they need most.
A safe connection when it matters most
4 Voices Global Limited focuses on reaching women who may feel isolated, unsafe or unable to ask for help. Through their outreach model, volunteers connect with women in everyday locations like shopping centres and community spaces, offering a safe, non-judgemental pathway to support.
For many women, this moment of connection is life changing.
A friendly conversation can lead to access to critical services such as crisis accommodation, counselling, legal assistance and safety planning. It is a simple but incredibly powerful approach that meets women where they are, both physically and emotionally.
How GIVIT supports 4 Voices
Since 2020, GIVIT has provided over 4,500 essential goods and services to 4 Voices, ensuring they can respond quickly and thoughtfully to the needs of the people they support. Every item donated through GIVIT is requested by frontline workers who understand exactly what is needed, when it is needed.
Some of the most commonly requested items include:
- Vouchers for groceries and clothing
- Mobile phones with SIM cards
- Nappies
- Baby formula
These are not luxuries. They are essentials that help women stay connected, care for their children and begin again with confidence.
Real stories of impact
Behind every request is a real person navigating an incredibly difficult situation. Through GIVIT and partners like 4 Voices, generosity is translated into tangible support that changes lives.
Rebuilding safety after trauma
A 35 year old First Nations woman lived in fear after experiencing domestic violence and a sexual assault by someone she knew and trusted. The perpetrator remained an ongoing threat and had broken into her apartment, stealing many of her belongings.
Although she worked closely with police as her case progressed, her day to day life felt overwhelming and unsafe. Through GIVIT and 4 Voices, she received new clothing and kitchen appliances, which helped her feel more normal and dignified in her home. These simple but essential items were part of a much bigger picture of recovery and resilience.

Kitchen appliances and clothing are helping this woman feel safe, settled and back in control of her space again.

Thanks to GIVIT's kind-hearted community, this lady was provided with a laptop to help her stay connected with support services.
Staying connected through a long fight
A 68 year old woman is living with the long term impacts of severe domestic violence after years of hardship. Following ongoing intimidation and financial control by her ex-husband, she has spent more than a decade navigating complex legal proceedings.
Although she was once a homeowner, her ex-husband threatened her safety by spreading damaging rumours and intimidating her. To protect her children she uprooted them from homes and universities to move house. They are now adults, but she believes the trauma left lasting anxiety and depression on her family.
Devastatingly, a fall requiring surgery limited her mobility, making it even harder to manage daily life, and she struggled to afford petrol, food and essentials.
Thanks to generous donations through GIVIT, she received a laptop which allowed her to stay connected with support services, manage her legal matters, and maintain a sense of independence.
Creating a safe home for a young family
A 35-year old mother of two boys had escaped domestic violence and secured a private rental. After leaving everything behind for safety, she was relieved to have obtained accommodation for herself and her kids, but their new home didn't come with any furniture or essentials to help her children feel settled and secure.
Thanks to generous donations trough GIVIT, the family received bedding for the children as well as school shoes. The bedding helped the kids feel safe and cozy, and new school shoes ensured they started the year confidently and with dignity.
This mum, who was studying before the violence, can now look forward to returning to study and work. Knowing that strangers cared enough to help her while she was doing it tough helps her rebuild her life with confidence.

New school shoes and bedding helped this family get back on their feet.
