Aboriginal mother needing assistance to furnish new home to regain care of her baby
Our service is supporting an Aboriginal woman who is a survivor of complex trauma - including domestic violence and state sanctioned violence. Her baby was removed from her care at 2 weeks old, resulting in a deterioration of her mental health and high emotional distress. She has experienced a period of homelessness, resulting in couch surfing over the last few months. She has now been offered housing stability, which will assist in facilitating restoration of her baby. Our client has no means to furnish the home without support and we desperately want to assist her in building a home that is safe, to ensure baby returns to her care as soon as possible.
