Hundreds of clients throughout country NSW in need of assistance with the cost of getting to cancer treatment
Some clients live more remotely than others which means more driving and expense to get to treatment . COVID-19 has seen a severe reduction in the amount of community sponsored travel to treatment services - most volunteer drivers being over 60. Try living in Mudgee for example with a cancer diagnosis - there are no oncologists, drive or a 250km round trip to Dubbo or Bathurst for Chemo and a 380km daily round trip to Orange for Radiotherapy. We have seen a doubling in requests for petrol vouchers from some branches , whilst at the same time all of our fundraising activities throughout our branch network have either been cancelled or postponed.
