Flood in Fitzroy Crossing has had a devasting impact on school attendance and community engagement.

Our District High School is aiming to establish a high school engagement program focused on beauty, health, and well-being for girls who have been disengaged from education for a long period of time. The recent 2023 Flood in Fitzroy Crossing has had a devasting impact on school attendance and community engagement- particularly our high school girls.
We believe that a program targeting our girls' interests will be vital in reengaging them with school. This initiative aims to inspire young girls to adopt hygiene practices for self-care while also acquiring fundamental beauty, hair, and makeup skills to instill a sense of pride in their appearance. Many of these girls have faced disengagement in their academic pursuits, but they express considerable interest in participating in these courses. Additionally, we are fortunate to have a qualified hairdresser who has volunteered to collaborate with the girls.
