A dedicated community minded family looking to rebuild after the devastation of the Fitzroy Valley Floods in January 2023.

Residents of Fitzroy Crossing for 40 years. A Walmajarri Elder who was born on the banks of the Martuwarra (Fitzroy River) the couple have raised numerous children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces at their residence. The couple have been tireless community members who have made significant contributions to the Fitzroy Valley community through education, sport, recreation and health organisations. Working tirelessly in community including being instrumental in the recognition of FASD as a recognised disability across Australia. Both have worked hard to highlight the impacts of the flood on community and lead recovery efforts.
Their residence was significantly affected by the Fitzroy Valley Floods in January 2023. Their entire block was inundated with flood waters that caused significant damage. Unfortunately do to the high premium costs the property was uninsured.
They have experienced a long road to recovery however have put their own needs behind that of the community.
