Elderly frail women living alone who has had her home flooded multiple times
This lady is elderly, with medical conditions that affect both her physical and mental health. She was affected by the bushfires over 20 years ago, and now part of her home has been flooded three times due to storm/flood events, in October 2022, October 2023 and early 2024. She is still in a pending insurance battle over the first event, and has received no financial aide to recover from any of the events. Her pension is the only source of income, and any money she has spare is going towards legal fees to support a family member fighting their own mental health and addiction related illnesses. There is a volunteer group who are hoping to support this client with the clean up and repairs, but nothing can be done until the insurance claim is finalized, so the state of the home and garden is a constant reminder of the floods.
