Flood-impacted couple displaced from primary place of residence
The Victorian October 2022 floods have displaced an elderly Rochester couple from their primary place of residence, due to flood damage rendering the property uninhabitable. The couple are residing with family while they complete repair works on the property. Due to their limited income as retirees, the couple are struggling to make ends meet as their living expenses have increased as a result of their displacement from the flooding causing ongoing stress. Financial assistance will be helpful to them in providing short term relief while they link in to medium-to-long-term supports.
