Single woman in her seventies in financial hardship urgently needs repairs to her roof following the 2022 Queensland floods.
Single woman in her early seventies whose home was damaged by the 2022 floods leading to a damaged roof which is causing her a lot of stress especially as we move into the Queensland wet season.
Her insurance company are not prepared to pay to fix the damaged roof, which they claim is due to maintenance issues not flood damage. They will cover the other flood damage to her house but only once the roof is repaired.
She does not have the necessary funds to complete the work—her sole income is the Aged Pension.
The damaged roof is causing her a lot of stress. She has experienced a lot of trauma in her life, has few informal support networks and has a number of health concerns including arthritis, back pain and insomnia which is being aggravated by worrying about her house.
She would greatly appreciate support to help repair her roof.
