Family displaced by Victoria 2024 February Storm Disaster
This family of three (single mother and two children) have been displaced from their place of residence after the Victoria 2024 storm disaster damaged their home, rendering it uninhabitable. The family are renters and not insured, therefore the displacement has effectively rendered them homeless.
The family have been residing with the mother's stepdaughter in South Gippsland, and have been linked in to local services to try and find long-term stable accommodation; however, they have not been successful in acquiring a private rental and are on a waitlist to apply for public housing via the VHR.
The family will currently benefit from material and financial aid such as vouchers to acquire essential food, bedding, apparel, etc. lost to the storm disaster.
