This Monbulk resident has experienced a lot of adversity in a short time.
The lady’s husband passed away in November 2023 while they were still dealing with their unsettled Insurance claim from October 2022 Floods. She was also impacted by the January 2024 flood and now must fight this battle without him.
While she has advocates to support her now, the delays in finalising the claims have impacted her already declining state of mental health.
The lower level of their home is a shell – waiting for repairs. She has a physical ailment that impacts her mobility and getting up and down the stairs is challenging but despite her situation she manages to the best of her ability.
She is on DSP and has struggled financially with reduced household income and unforeseen costs of contributed to the floods.
Gifting this lady with Bunnings and Coles vouchers would be a tremendous help to her current situation.
