1 in a 100-year flooding event in the Fitzroy Crossing township has left many families with nothing.

This recent event has caused widespread flooding and properties have been decimated with all household items lost.
Families have been reaching out to our organisation for help with essential items. The rebuilding of this community is hampered as we are in the middle of the wet season and the highway has been washed away in a 10 kilometre stretch near Derby. This has held up repairs to houses, and trucks carrying supplies to the town and outlying communities. Another impacting challenge is the outbreak of COVID in the community, which means reduced resources on the ground to support the recovery efforts. We are seeking a supply of resource to give to families when they present at our Aboriginal community based service.
