Our site is a safe space for families to receive support.
Our site provides a safe space where parents and carers and their children are welcomed with no referral or appointment.
Parents and children can relax, engage with staff and volunteers, share a meal and connect with other parents. The focus is on play and fun. We also offer transport and are able to pick families and children up and drop them home.
Our site uses a strengths-based approach and builds protective factors of individuals and families to prevent future acute or emergency medical and social services engagement. Protective and resilience-building factors for mothers and children include creating positive social connections, targeted connections with specialised services, improving the knowledge of caregivers about parenting and child development, and creating socially and emotionally competent children and caregivers.
We provide immediate relief supporting with food and emergency items. Our site and many of the families we support were affected by the floods.
