This kind-hearted and generous man is a firie and master tradie. After the floods he worked and guided other tradies in the repair of shops in the CBD. Because he felt the pain of the people affected, he worked full-tilt, but after five months of that, his body gave in and he ended up with a four month stay in hospital, getting down to only 35kg at the worst point.
He is now back home and though still very weak, is getting stronger and is starting to spend more time on his feet and getting a few things done about the place. He applied for sickness benefit back in August, but when that didn't come through, applied for the DSP but that's taking forever as well. He lives by himself and without being able to work and with rates and vehicle expenses, etc, he is down to the bottom of the barrel.
A few vouchers will help to keep him going until some other support comes through, hopefully soon.
