Elderly disabled man along with his wife and dog were forced to evacuate for two weeks. They were separated and evacuated to two separate locations due to availability. They are on limited income via Centrelink and incurred huge costs during the complicated evacuation process. They had to use a credit card to cover food, petrol, and animal costs. They have struggled to repay the credit card debt and recoup their losses. Upon return to their property, all their food was spoiled in the fridge and freeze, including that of their beloved pet dog.
