Donation space providing free food, clothing and other goods to those in need, including homeless and First Nations clients
After Cyclone Alfred, many of our clients are needing support to even access the government grants. We assist clients to print out forms, scan forms etc and have wifi available for them to use. We also provide some groceries, household goods, 2nd hand clothing and frozen meals for free to anyone in need. Roughly 30% of our clients are homeless, and 30% are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. Many clients live away from the town centre (50-100km), and having some fuel vouchers ready to go will mean the clients are not afraid of seeking help and getting stuck in town without petrol. Public transport is very limited and rarely an option if they want to bring groceries back home with them. Getting to the nearest Service NSW or Service Australia, Coles or Woolworths is a further 30km from Kyogle.
