Client rental property damaged in floods, risk of homelessness with 4 children with special needs
family of 2 adults and 4 children with special needs were living in a 2 bedroom house when it was damaged by the Jan-Fan FNQ tropical low. The roof on one of the bedrooms caved in so family were forced to live in 1 bedroom. The moved out and in with family, which cause conflict and severe distress to the family. After many months family have found a rental with rent a fair bit more than they expected. They have used the last of their money to pay bond. Family need to hire a removal truck to pick up furniture from one place and dropped to their new rental property, and require financial assistance to do this. Husband has recently had surgery so cannot lift anything. Family got a quote for 2 day truck hire with 'Network car and Truck Hire Innisfail' for $980- quote attached. Without the financial assistance family have no way of getting their belongings which will cause more unnecessary distressed to an already distressed family.
