Photography Program for disengaged young people of Cherbourg

We are a Special Assistance School that provides alternative education opportunities for disengaged youth of Cherbourg. Many of our young people experience social isolation, violence, drug and alcohol family breakdown and the impacts of intergenerational trauma. Our school is an attempt to break the school to prison pipeline that exists for many of our young people. The ability to tell your own story, and to recreate the narrative about what it is to be a young black young person in Australia is a powerful tool. We see photography as a way of doing that. We are running a program to engage in truth telling through the eyes of young people. We need a minimum of 10 digital cameras of reasonable quality to fully see the program to fruition. Can you help us?
