A mother and young woman with disabilities impacted in 2023 Kimberley Floods

A young woman with a physical and intellectual disability, and her mum were impacted in the Kimberley Floods of 2023. They lost their home and all of their belongings. They were evacuated from their community and were living with various relatives and ended up living on the street before moving into the Women's Shelter. This was a very trying time for them and they have both suffered from financial hardship and mental health issues. They moved home to community when Temporary Accommodation Units were installed and they have been eagerly waiting for their home to be rebuilt. The home is very nearly ready and they will be moving to their new forever home very very soon. They want to make the house a home and thank everyone for their support.
