Local Hobart Charity Urgent Need: Mum and Bub find their first home together after homelessness
One of our clients has been homeless since she was 16; living in and out of shelters and couch surfing. She had to leave her family home for her own safety due to sexual assault perpetrated against her. Despite her housing instability, she managed to complete her Year 12 Certificate.
She is now 22 and pregnant, and determined to give her child the kind of life she did not get and has enrolled in a business course next year. She has a 10 year plan that will see her opening up her own business and wants to eventually give back to people in need.
She has found a permanent house for her and bub and moves in this Thursday the 15th of September and is urgent need of items for her home.
