50 yo indigenous woman with mental health issues on DSP is financially deprived after paying rent & utility bills.

This 50 year old woman is struggling with the cost of living crisis. She has moved into a share house with an extended lease. She lives with a mental illness, her source of income is the DSP. After paying for her share of rent, paying for public transport and her mobile phone bill, there is not a lot left of money left for food and clothing. This woman has a Certificate III in Community Support. She is looking at getting back into the workforce and furthering her education through TAFE next year . However, lack of food, insecure housing and discrimination related to her mental disability is making her dreams very challenging.
**UPDATE** 26.01.2025 - This woman is still unemployed but is searching for part time work, she receives a DSP but it is not enough to cover her phone bill, rent and paying back of loans. This woman has a Cert III in Community Services and will start her Cert IIII in Youth Work in 2 weeks time. She is looking for a new laptop and office items.
