Hearing Aid

A Syrian refugee with hearing loss from the war needs your help resettling in the country.

The Recipient is a newly arrived refugee in the country who is doing their best to integrate into Australian life. Having escaped from the war in their home country, the recipient has always struggled to learn English due to hearing deficits caused by the war noises. Recently, with the assistance of a humanitarian agency, the recipient underwent a hearing test and discovered that they have severe hearing loss. The specialist recommended a hearing aid for them.

However, the recipient's financial situation does not allow them to afford the hearing aid. They are currently receiving Centrelink payment, which covers their basic living expenses, but it is nearly impossible for them to afford anything beyond that. Despite difficulties in hearing and understanding their English teacher, the recipient remains committed to attending English classes in order to learn the language and engage in financial activities. The hearing aid would greatly benefit the recipient and transform their life.
