Severely flood affected family of 5, living in the hills. Struggling to get grants. Mental health impacted. Economic hardship
Father's business was severely impacted from Covid19 and then again with the floods. Father is experiencing PTSD as a result of the floods and ongoing fight to secure financial support from flood grants.
Driveway was completed destroyed in the floods and family have spent money they had to fix road so that they could continue to live in house. Land shifted during the floods & house has suffered significant damage as a result.
Family lost 2 cars in the flood.
Child has developed a chronic pain illness since the floods and she now requires extra care as often can't attend school. Child has been seeing a variety of doctors & specialists, all of which have impacted on families capacity to work and caused additional financial stress.
Seeking support to buy a new fridge and oven, both of which were damaged in the flood and are having electrical issues. Also seeking support to buy a brush cutter so that overgrowth since the floods can be cleared to prevents snakes & reduce fire risk.
