Young mum and son from refugee background need help with basic needs

Young woman from refugee background arrived recently with her 3 year old son, she has had some issues settling into society however she is so determined to better her life for herself and her son. She is completing work placement and trying to make ends meet with the cost of living. She needs help to buy food as the cost of her travelling via public transport to meet her tertiary needs (work placement before she can receive her certificate) is making it difficult to manage both. She is so determined and goal driven and has achieved so much in such a very short time but just needs that little bit of extra help to get her through. She would be ever so grateful for any help you can offer.
