Single parent First Nations family needs urgent pest treatment service for health and saftey of children
The family rent a property that has been poorly maintained by the housing provider for many years. As such the home has problems with rats entering the property posing a health and safety risk for the family, including 3 young children, one of whom is a crawling infant. Additionally, there is a cockroach infestation and most likely fleas as the infant is getting bitten when having play time on the floor. The family do not have pets, so we believe the fleas were dormant in the property from previous tenants. The family cannot afford pest treatment services. Pest treatment services are in the range of $325 for all insect treatment and $225 - $500 for rat treatment and maintenance. Due to the house having many access points for rats and the adjacent blocks with rat habitat, rat management will need to be ongoing.
